What is Music Together®?

Music Together® is an internationally recognized early childhood music program that began as an educational project of the Center for Music and Young Children® in 1985. Through its research-based curriculum, Music Together® helps families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal, participatory musical experiences.

What are Music Together® classes?

A Music Together® class is not a "music lesson". It is not performance-based, nor is it a model for musical perfection. It is a model for DOING music with your child! It is a relaxed, playful, participatory, exploratory experience. It just so happens that according to research, such an environment, particularly in the home, is what nurtures musical growth and allows children to develop their music intelligence and a foundation for future music achievement.

Parent education during class will increase your understanding of the relevance of class activities to childhood music development.

Music Together® classes will be a source of ideas on how you can bring music into everyday life in spontaneous, fun and musically expanding ways for your child. Not only will you be able to recreate most of the activities done in class in your own family setting, but also you will find that your creative process is stimulated and you discover ever new musical ways to connect and play with your child.

Learn about how your child learns and grows musically.

The atmosphere invites and encourages participation by both children and adults, regardless of musical skill, talent, or training. Music Together® parents discover what a powerful role model they are to their child, just by having fun with the music themselves. In doing so, they often find that their own musicality flourishes as well!
