Frequently Asked Questions

If you have additional questions about our programs please use the contact us link to send us your questions. Below are a few questions that families often ask.

Are you a licensed centre?

Yes, we are licenced by the Ministry of Education.

What is your routine for a half day program?

Free play (indoor and outdoor)/snack/group times – music & art

What is your adult/child ratio?

Our ratio is one to eight. The staff members have extensive training and experience teaching preschoolers music and visual arts.

Do children need to be toilet trained?

No they do not. We will work with families in the process of toilet training.

Is the centre closed at any point during the year?

The preschool opens in September and closes for stat holidays, 2 weeks in Dec./Jan. and 1 week in March.  The school year ends at the end of June and is closed for July and August for our regular program and we run summer camps for certain weeks of the summer. We will be closed for 3 PD days per school year.

What does the preschooler need to bring?

Your child will need to bring a backpack, a reusable water bottle, indoor runners to be kept at preschool and a change of clothes to be kept in their backpack. Please remember to label everything.

What should I do if my child is sick?

Please do not send a sick child to school. If a child arrives with symptoms of illness, the child will not be permitted to stay. Please notify us by calling the preschool or sending an email, if your child becomes ill and will not be attending that day. We ask that parents notify us when their child contracts a communicable disease. The preschool will notify all other parents about any communicable disease outbreaks (This does not name the child involved just the classroom to indicate highest exposure). A child will not be permitted to attend preschool when he or she has vomited or had diarrhea during the previous 48 hours.

What if I am early or late dropping off or picking up my child?

Arrival: Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your start time. Please ask about our early drop off times.

Pick up: Please be prompt in picking up your child after class. If anyone other than a Parent/Guardian is picking up your child, the teacher needs to be notified prior to pick up by one of the Parents/Guardians. They also need to be prepared to present ID with a photo.
